Fifth graders at Crossroads Elementary School on Marine Corps Base Quantico explored coding at the AFCEA Hack-a-Thon, a STEAM-focused event. Using micro:bit kits and Chromebooks, students tackled hands-on coding challenges, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork under the guidance of teachers and event organizers. The event, complete with a pizza lunch and drawstring grab bags, captivated students and highlighted the importance of early STEAM education, preparing military-connected children for future tech-driven careers.
